Privacy Policy

Short version: Velaris is a local desktop application. Your match data is fetched directly from the Riot Games API using your Summoner Name and stored on your own device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data, sell your data, or share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

1. Who We Are

Velaris ("we", "our", "us") is an independent third-party desktop application for Windows. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Riot Games, Inc. Contact: contact@velaris.gg

2. What Data We Collect

Velaris collects and processes the following data to provide its features:

Data fetched from the Riot Games API (stored locally on your device):

Summoner name, PUUID, and rank information
Match history (game results, champion played, KDA, items, runes)
LP history and ranked statistics
Live game data during an active match (via the local Live Client Data API at localhost:2999)

Data generated by you inside the app (stored locally on your device):

Personal notes and matchup annotations
Goals and milestones you set
App preferences and settings (language, theme, overlay positions)
Champion pool configuration

Data we do NOT collect:

We do not collect passwords or Riot account credentials
We do not read game memory or access any data outside the official Riot APIs
We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or telemetry without your explicit consent
We do not collect payment information (the app is free)

3. How We Use Your Data

All data is used solely to provide Velaris' features:

Displaying your match history, statistics, and LP progression
Generating AI-powered coaching insights based on your recent games
Powering the in-game overlay with objective timers and CS benchmarks
Letting you search and compare other summoners' public stats

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the operation of the application.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored locally on your Windows device using the application's local storage (localStorage in the WebView) and your file system. Velaris does not operate a remote database or cloud storage for user data.

The only outbound network requests Velaris makes are:

Requests to api.riotgames.com to fetch your match and summoner data (using your API key or production key)
Requests to ddragon.leagueoflegends.com to fetch champion images and patch data

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party.

Data fetched from the Riot Games API is governed by Riot Games' Privacy Notice. By using Velaris, you also agree to Riot Games' Terms of Service.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are in full control:

To delete all app data: Uninstall Velaris and clear the application's local storage from your browser profile or AppData folder
To request deletion of any data we may hold: Email contact@velaris.gg and we will respond within 30 days

Because we do not store personal data on remote servers, there is typically nothing to delete on our end.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Right of access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data
Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): You can request deletion of your data
Right to data portability: You can request your data in a portable format
Right to object: You can object to certain uses of your data

8. Children's Privacy

Velaris is not directed at children under the age of 13. League of Legends requires players to be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

Velaris communicates with the Riot API exclusively over HTTPS. Your API key is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to Velaris servers (we don't have any). We do not store API keys or credentials remotely.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
